Summer Pitch Project

One of the assignments we had been given at NBC was a pitch project. Where we would be teamed up with 5-6 other interns and be given a channel. We had to come up with a show idea, do all the research, marketing, concept, and branding for the show. I was in charge of creating the logo, key art, and branding for the show.

Previous Versions

My inspiration for the logo came from the name our group came up with, Y2Katchup. The logo reminded us of the word, ketchup, so for whatever reason my mind clicked, and came up with the idea to make a ketchup bottle shaped logo, and have the branding be reminiscent of 90’s and 2000’s style diners.

Logo Concept

My goal for the branding was to bring back the colorfulness of the Y2K era, so I took inspiration from 90’s and 2000’s style diners that were relevant in that time period. The logo aims to call back that time period through the use of bright colors. Its geometric form creates a retro / arcade-esque style. These forms and shapes also reference the theme of certain diners from the 90’s and 2000’s.
